Medicine Bow Valley
The Medicine Bow Valley,
from its spacious sage brush prairies to it's
majestic snow capped mountains, can capture the
imagination of those who venture here and transform
them back to the romantic days of the Old West.
(See our Points
of Interest
Map for
details.)
Tranquil, uncrowded,
unhurried, unpolluted, are just a few of the
beautiful adjectives used to describe the Medicine
Bow area. Time seems to have stood still, allowing
us for just a moment, to conjure up images of "how
it used to be".
As you gaze at the
unmolested beauty, breathing the crystal clear air
of the West, you can almost expect to see a weary,
dust covered cowboy, an ornately adorned Indian
Chief, or a burly buffalo appear from over a nearby
ridge.
The days of an
uncomplicated, simple lifestyle of the cowboy have
moved on and we have all gone through the
transformation into today's modern world. But, as
Owen Wister noted in his prologue of "The
Virginian," "...it is but a transition not a
finality..." The cowboy may have been forgotten,
but his legacy of the Old West and what it stood
for will long be remembered.
Experience the
Western Frontier, step into history and
"Romance the Old West" in the Medicine
Bow Valley.
