JBs Stop & Shop is the local gas station and convinience store in Medicine Bow, owned by Harry and Toni George.
The section of Interstate 80 between Laramie and Rawlins is frequently closed or unsafe for semi trucks due to wind or weather. Since Highway 30 also runs between Laramie to Rawlins, but by a different route, it is used to bypass that stretch of I-80 when it is inaccessible. This means that a lot of traffic passes by Medicine Bow, especially when the weather is bad, and a lot of truckers and tourists stop to refuel and get a hot drink. This makes gas stations/convinience stores a necessity along this part of Highway 30, and also helps make them successful.
JBs sells unleaded and diesel fuel, hunting and fishing licenses, fishing supplies, prepackaged sandwiches, soft ice cream, cold drinks, hot drinks, hot dogs and more. They also provide services such as RV hookups, ATM, Fax, and propane exchange (PPX).
