Open Wide

The Medicine Bow area has a great abundance of wildlife. From rabbits and antelope to prairie dogs and rattlesnakes, and sometimes even smaller, such as baby birds with big mouths to feed, nature in Wyoming is truly amazing.

Unscented, Please

It was October of 1984 when the Medicine Bow Post editor snapped this photo of Jimmy Lund with his pet skunk. And the original description with the photograph explained how the editor happened onto the scene. Here's that dialog...

Editor (coming out of a local business and seeing the skunk in Jimmy's arms): "Good heavens!"

Jimmy: "I have a skunk."

"Is it safe?"

"Yes, it doesn't bite."

"I mean, does it spray?"

"No."

"In that case, let me quickly take a photo."
