Sculptor Robert Russin, at his art studio in
Laramie, was featured in an early
edition of the Medicine Bow Post.
Russin, who has artwork all around the
world, sculpted the bronze head of
Abraham Lincoln which can be seen along
I-80 east of Laramie. At one time,
Russin had considered setting up an art
studio in Medicine Bow.

An October 1982 photo of Russ
McFarland, Medicine Bow police chief,
experimented with the use of camera strobe
lighting through a police car windshield
for a nice portrait result. Russ, who
still resides in Medicine Bow, currently
works for the U.S. Postal Service in
Laramie.

In this photo from the 1980s, Chuck
Sherr, a car mechanic for Cooper
Chevrolet, does some repair work under a
car hood. Chuck was a resident of Rock
River. The photo won a portrait award at a
Wyoming Press Association contest.

Rancher Nat Smith of the Rock River
area displayed the hide of a "super"
coyote that weighed 53 pounds. The photo
appeared in a Feb. 3, 1983 issue of the
Medicine Bow Post.
